At Strongwood Carolina, we believe that the right answers to these questions are absolutely critical to high energy efficiency, low maintenance and and low term enjoyment of your new log home.

We know that Strongwood manufacturers the best packages in the world --- yes, Strongwood log homes are shipped to many countries around the world --- and it does not cost more to have the best.

So, why do some manufacturers cut corners?

  • They do not have access to Eastern White Pine so they substitute a lesser quality species because it is easily available to them.

  •  They are not able to make the expensive investment in a large dry kiln.

  • They must use screw jacks, springs, rods and extra caulking to account for settling and shrinkage of their green logs.

  • They must spray or dip their logs in chemicals in order to protect green logs from pests.
