SIPs have been used by forward thinking Architects, Engineers, Designers and Builders for decades. Frank Lloyd Wright is probably the most famous Architect who used Structural Panels. In 1941 Dow Chemical Co. purchased the rights to Styrofoam from the Swedish inventor. In 1952 Alden Dow, son of Herbert H. Dow, the founder of Dow Chemical Co., built with the first foam core panel, now known as Structural Insulated Panels. Our experience with SIPs dates back to 1974!
SIPs are our main focus and your home can be designed to look exactly like a log home (or any other style) on the exterior and interior! Only you (and us) will know the difference! But you won't keep it a secret for long! Especially when you see your heating and cooling bill!
It is well known that SIP construction can save as much as 50-60% on heating and cooling costs over conventional construction methods.
SIP homes are cost competitive with standard conventional construction that meets Energy Star ratings and higher. They are up to 55% faster to build according to recent RS Means Construction data and our experience. They require smaller heating and cooling units and are considerably more comfortable than conventional constructed homes.
We use only SIPA member suppliers and Certified Third Party Inspected manufacturers for the SIPs. See sipa.org for additional information.
